Egenera has introduced a cloud migration service that enables organizations to transition existing cloud-based or on-premise servers to its Xterity wholesale managed cloud.

The Massachusetts-based cloud management software provider this week unveiled CloudMigrate, a cloud migration service designed to help organizations “gain better margins and superior manageability and support than with large public clouds.”

“[CloudMigrate] will enable cloud services providers to quickly and easily migrate servers from on-premise data centers or from clouds run by other cloud providers to Xterity,” Egenera CEO Pete Manca told Talkin’ Cloud. “CSPs can enjoy healthier margins [and] better management and SLAs from Xterity than they can from other cloud providers, including the big ‘Cloudzillas.'”

Many CSPs are getting their margins squeezed by large public cloud vendors, according to Manca. 

However, he pointed out CloudMigrate enables CSPs “to quickly and easily move servers into Xterity from both on-premise data centers and from other clouds such as AWS, Azure and vCloud Air and gain higher margins and better manageability and support.”

Egenera launched Xterity in April 2015, and Xterity includes dedicated compute, private, public, bare metal and cloud suite software.

In addition, Egenera said its channel partners can offer Xterity business continuity services such as disaster recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) and backup-as-a-service (BaaS) to their customers.

Manca also noted channel partners should expect Egenera to unveil additional capabilities and services that complement his company’s core offerings and help customers “meet requirements like compliance and custom security needs in vertical markets like healthcare, financial services and life sciences.”
