dinCloud Raises $1M in Seed Funding for Flagship VDI Wares

dinCloud, a cloud service provider specializing in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions, has announced the close of a $1 million round of seed funding that will go into enhancing its flagship dinHVD (hosted virtual desktop) service offering.

The value proposition of dinHVD (why don’t these cloud startups ever use capital letters? They were good enough for IBM, by jove), lies in its offering the full cloud stack, from “client devices to datacenter and infrastructure,” according to the press release. Access to dinHVD is subscription-based, and it’s supported by the dinStack coalition of third-party vendors, including NetApp and Quest, as part of an overall effort to provide IT pros with a complete end-to-end VDI solution.

“We are excited about the confidence our investors have shown in the business. With this funding, we can rapidly grow our customer base,” said Saad Shahzad, dinCloud chief strategy officer, in a prepared statement.

No word yet about where the funding actually came from, but dinCloud’s reached out to TalkinCloud, so we may have a little more insight for you. No matter what, this announcement speaks to how well VDI is doing for itself in the expanding cloud market, and we’ll continue to watch the technology closely.
