dinCloud has now made it possible for its channel partners to sell common Amazon (AMZN) S3 software packages through its most recent cloud storage automation offering.

Dubbed dinStorage S3, the new dedicated cloud-based storage solution aims to tackle the inefficiencies of S3 by offering private connectivity via a dozen carriers and taking data transfer fees off the table.

Through the dinManage platform, customers can create and start using S3 accounts to manage their dedicated storage while using popular S3 clients.

dinStorage S3 enables the following capabilities:

  • Create of multiple S3 storage accounts

  • Assign friendly account labels

  • Reset S3 credentials using secure mechanism

  • Delete S3 storage account including data on the storage

  • Configure per GB pricing of storage through admin interface

  • Supports both net terms and credit card users

  • Security measures to protect users’ credentials

  • Auto calculation of billing on hourly basis through a separate dinManage daemon

  • Confirmation emails for all actions

  • Compatibility with other free and paid S3 storage clients

“As widely adopted as S3 has become, it’s had a few drawbacks, including low performance over the Internet for large datasets, unencrypted disks, and heavy transfer fees for restores,” dinCloud CTO Mike Chase said in a prepared statement.

Attempting to iron out creases in Amazon’s offering, the cloud services provider (CSP) is giving end users unlimited storage capacity. It’s also only charging them on a per gigabyte, per month basis with no upload or download fees.

dinStorage S3 also provides channel partners with installation and configuration support. Other support includes managed services with S3 as the backend.
