Coraid and Virteva Partner for Midmarket Cloud Offering
Coraid, which specializes in SAN solutions, popped up over at The VAR Guy back in March 2010, when it was touting its new Ethernet SAN Solution. Now, Coraid is taking that solution and rolling it into a partnership with Virteva, an MSP that’s looking to accelerate private cloud platforms.
The idea behind the Coraid-Virteva partnership is to try and provide a “disruptive” price point for midmarket cloud deployment. Virteva has been providing cloud services, but amid increasing customer request for “future-proof services” its private cloud offering needed something a bit more in the way of storage.
Virteva calls its plan “Composite IT” and Coraid, according to Virteva, was a perfect fit with EtherDrive storage. EtherDrive is ideal for Virteva because it needed something that was scalable, platform-agnostic and “responsive.” What’s more, Coraid scales out Ethernet SAN provides upgrades from legacy Fibre Channel and iSCISI storage networks.
The partnership seems like a win for Coraid and a validation of its technology, which — according to reader comments over at The VAR Guy — has been quite well-received. For a company like Virteva, which designs and builds IT business platforms, the foundation of storage can’t be understated.
We’ll keep our ear to the ground for any more storage-related partnerships with Coraid.
