Cloud Productivity: Zoho Debuts Show 3.0 Presentation Tool

Cloud productivity suite developer Zoho has officially launched Zoho Show 3.0, a total revamping of its SaaS presentation tool. It’s been a while since TalkinCloud last heard from Zoho, but it’s clear the company has every intention of continuing to take on the major players of the cloud world.

In an official blog entry, Zoho said the key updates in Zoho Show 3.0 fall into three broad categories:

  • Visually Appealing: Zoho Show 3.0 adds support for things such as dynamic shapes, rich image editing, shape effects, advanced formatting and rich text editing.

  • Effortless Creation: Zoho is hyping Show 3.0’s redesigned GUI, document fidelity when important from other formats and programs, better design features such as improved page previews, slide design that now supports landscape and portrait layouts and  multiple object management.

  • Anywhere Delivery: The new version adds real-time collaboration, a “broadcast” function to enable users see other users’ documents and the ability to embed your documents in any other page.

I can’t help but notice at least some of those enhancements don’t seem like enhancements — they seem like features to bring the offering on a par with the Google Apps suite, for which collaboration is a cornerstone.

But of course, no matter how much Zoho builds its offerings to play nice with Google Apps or any other cloud product, it’s still in business for itself. And it seems obvious this update is an effort to make the Zoho Apps suite competitive with anyone else on the market.
