Cloud Cruiser has launched version 4 of its solution for hybrid IT consumption-based service delivery. The aptly named Cloud Cruiser 4 builds on previous versions' features with the ability to track usage and costs with real-time visibility, greater financial control and hard cost savings of up to 10 percent of an annual IT budget.
Cloud Cruiser, which focuses on enabling hybrid cloud environments by providing IT with a centralized delivery service, traditionally plays in the cloud services provider market. It's a set of features and functionality that cloud services providers are interested in, said Deirdre Mahon, CMO of Cloud Cruiser, in an interview with Talkin' Cloud.
"Historically, we've been going to market through partners. We have a number of CSPs. They usually care about consumption tracking and invoicing," she said.
Some of the new or enhanced capabilities in Cloud Cruiser 4 include:
- Executive insights, which provide a single pane, customizable dashboard view that shows top costs, overages, spend against plan and capacity limits.
- Demand and supply insights, providing real-time, granular consumption tracking. It offers reports and alerts against costs and actual IT services consumption.
- What-if insights, which provides cost comparisons and rate modeling to help achieve lower costs and optimize IT services delivery.
Essentially, the new features fall into a brand new dashboard that makes it easier to use Cloud Cruiser while also providing much more in-depth tracking information and up-to-the-minute analytics.
Mahon noted that Cloud Cruiser currently has little competition. There's no 800-pound gorilla in the market segment, she said. As the interest in tracking usage and analytics grows, more cloud services providers are signing on as customers and partners. With Cloud Cruiser, they're providing their own customers and partners with detailed analytics data while also being able to use the tool to improve their own experiences.
