CentraStage's Managed Services Push: Going Global?

CentraStage, which offers a SaaS-based managed services platform, isn’t all that well known in North America. But the UK-based company continues to build its international reseller channel. The latest CentraStage moves involve partnerships with B-Logic in South Africa and GoWorld in New Zealand. Here are some details.

B-Logic focuses on “only 2 critical areas” with in the IT market: remote computer management (via CentraStage) and remote data backup (via Attix5). As MSPmentor has mentioned, managed services is gaining traction in South Africa. Most of the momentum I’ve heard about involves MSPs working with Kaseya, but CentraStage signals continued multi-vendor competition in the region.

Meanwhile, GoWorld focuses on high-performance security and systems management in New Zealand. Founded in 2007, the company markets itself as a managed security services provider that can help customers running Windows, Unix, Linux and Mac.

CentraStage In the Spotlight

But who exactly is CentraStage? And is the company really gaining momentum as a SaaS-centric remote monitoring and management (RMM)?

It’s always difficult for me to pinpoint a privately held company’s health since there’s no access to net income statements. But CentraStage claims to enjoy “spiraling customer numbers on their SaaS platform.” Moreover:

  • Schools across the United Kingdom, in particular, have been eager adopters.

  • CentraStage’s SaaS-based software doubled the number of devices it managed in Q2 2010 vs. Q2 2009 Q1 2010.

  • Computer Troubleshooters (which has roughly 475 managed services franchises locations worldwide and nearly 40 locations in the UK) is partnering with CentraStage. It sounds like the relationship is limited to those 40 UK solutions providers.

If you spot CentraStage in North America please give MSPmentor a heads up. In the meantime, we’ll continue to monitor their progress in Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
