BrightGauge Previews SaaS Reporting Tool for MSPs
Veteran managed services providers (MSPs) continue to branch out into the SaaS and software markets. The latest example involves Compuquip, a Miami-based MSP, launching BrightGauge — a SaaS platform that allows MSPs to show end-customers a simple, readable, but potentially robust view of delivered services.
BrightGauge is the brainchild of brothers Eric and Brian Dosal, and was originally developed for the internal use of Compuquip. But Eric Dosal says that peers in the MSP community suggested the solution be spun out as a white label cloud product.
When BrightGauge leaves closed beta and hits its full release in early January 2011, it’ll only support Kaseya (remote monitoring and management) and ConnectWise (professional services automation) for reporting and automation statistics, respectively — though the Dosals say they’re working on additional integrations with platforms like Autotask (see related story: Autotask Announces New CEO).
As for the solution itself, it generates reports on things like network health and usage on-the-fly, polling RMM and PSA on demand and pulling data from both into good-looking reports accessible from the browser. We’ll be watching for updates once BrightGauge officially launches in January 2011.
Meanwhile, we’re heading from more and more MSPs that are launching their own software efforts. Two prime examples involve Directive launching JoomConnect and Rezitech launching MSPintegrations.

Matt –
Great post, just to add a quick note…
BrightGauge will initially integrate with both Kaseya amp; Connectwise for version 1 and on our immediate roadmap is integration with LabTech Software. So far we have had tremendous feedback from the MSP community and can’t wait for the beta testers to help us in putting the final touches on our product.
If you are interested in a sneak peak into BrightGauge by getting access to our demo site please join our launch list at http://www.brightgauge.com and we’ll send you the info.

Eric: Please keep us posted as development continues. Thanks for briefing Matt.

My team, United Technology Group, is so excited to start the beta program with this software application. We spend so much time (and overhead!) in preparing data and reporting for Client Business Reviews and this tool will let us be more effcient in our efforts and ultimately more profitable while providing a higher level of service to our clients. Nice work BrightGauge!

Are there any plans to support integration with other monitoring tools besides Kaseya?
Michael: Thanks for the questions. We have LabTech on the roadmap for early Q1 and have started discussions with others as well but no timeline for others at this time. Happy Holidays!!
