Blue Box Adds Alert Logic’s Cloud Defender to Private Cloud Service Portfolio
MSPmentor 501 honoree Blue Box is working with security-as-a-service (SECaaS) company Alert Logic to help Blue Box Cloud customers protect their data.
Blue Box has integrated Alert Logic’s Cloud Defender cloud security technology into the Blue Box Cloud portfolio. The OpenStack-based private cloud-as-a-service (PCaaS) solutions provider is working with Alert Logic to integrate its Threat Manager intrusion detection and vulnerability scanning product into this portfolio, too.
So what was the impetus for the Blue Box-Alert Logic partnership? Blue Box said Alert Logic’s flexible deployment architecture and ability to work with both bare-metal instances and in virtualized environments made it an ideal partner.
“Alert Logic has a full-featured security operations center staffed with security and compliance experts who understand not only their product, but also the attack surface that cloud environments face,” Blue Box Chief Product Officer Hernan Alvarez said in a prepared statement. “This partnership extends our reach into an important new product feature set, amplifying the value we deliver to our customers.”
Cloud Defender gives Blue Box Cloud customers “a fully managed cloud-based suite of security and compliance solutions for hybrid IT infrastructure,” according to Blue Box.
Brian Forbes, Alert Logic’s vice president of partner and Americas field marketing, also noted that Cloud Defender “provides businesses with deep security insight into their IT environment and continuous protection against attacks, at a fraction of the cost of traditional security solutions.”
Blue Box plans to continue to invest in its PCaaS solutions as well.
The company added $4 million in Series B funding in January, raising its total financing for its Series B round to $14 million, and Blue Box Chief Technology Officer Jesse Proudman told Talkin’ Cloud that his company would use the Series B financing to accelerate its product development roadmap for its channel partners.
