BetterCloud Extends SaaS Management Platform Beyond G Suite Focus

BetterCloud has launched a new SaaS management platform that allows its users to monitor any SaaS application connected to its dashboard via API.

The New York-based company redesigned the service completely, in a process that took two years, according BetterCloud CEO David Politis said in an interview with TechCrunch.

The new version enables users to connect applications via APIs, including Slack, Zendesk and Dropbox, with plans to integrate 12 more apps next year, including Salesforce. By utilizing a more modern architecture based on containers and microservices, it will be able to add support for new tools at a rapid pace, Politis says.

BetterCloud allows IT to control cloud services by monitoring usage, user privileges and more. Users can create custom rules that automatically perform actions when certain conditions are met.

“The rise of the SaaS-powered workplace is transforming the role of IT,” Politis said in a statement. “What was once a behind-the-scenes department is now becoming deeply integrated into the business. But the explosion of SaaS offerings from thousands of providers brings a new and significant set of challenges for IT, including a lack of visibility across applications, manual processes that don’t scale, and lack of awareness around operational risk. The new BetterCloud platform empowers IT with the solutions they need to operate and scale today’s SaaS-powered workplace.”
