Backupify Partners With Google Apps Solution Providers
The Google Apps cloud suite has its fans in the channel. But the cloud platform lacks built-in secure backup functionality. Enter Backupify, which has long offered a backup solution to administrators in the Google Apps Marketplace — and today launches a formal reseller program for Google Apps solution providers and cloud integrators.
Backupify’s solution is simple: take your Google Apps data, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Contacts and Google Sites, and back it up in the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) cloud for retrieval if the worst should happen. When last TalkinCloud heard from Backupify, the company was participating in the first-of-its-kind Secure Cloud Bundle, offering its services alongside LTech and CloudLock for $9/user/year.
And now the Backupify Authorized Reseller Program formalizes the company’s channel pitch as it reaches out to the 3,500+ Google Apps cloud integrators and channel partners. Leading the channel charge is former Iron Mountain Director of Worldwide Partner Marketing Daniel Stevenson, who recently assumed the mantle of Backupify Vice President of Partnerships and Alliances, according to the press release.
Backupify offers its authorized resellers the usual lineup of perks: deal registration, sales and technical training, marketing tools, access to a dedicated sales channel team, and recurring revenues.
The bigger picture: It sounds like Google Apps partners and ISVs both are developing the cloud ecosystem nicely. But I’m wondering how long before the enterprise business builds enough to warrant a mention on Google’s quarterly reports.
