Asigra Brings Cloud Backup and DR To China
Asigra, which provides the MSP channel with cloud backup and DR solutions, is entering the Chinese IT services market thanks to a strategic partnership with cloud systems integrator Skycloud. Asigra says they’re trying to capitalize on an 87.4% annual compound growth rate in China for cloud services. TalkinCloud sees it as just another demonstration of how the cloud is growing internationally.
The two-year-old Skycloud already has a pretty robust cloud portfolio, according to the press release. They offer IaaS and virtual desktops to customers including all three major Chinese telecoms. And now Skycloud says that Asigra Cloud Backup completes their data protection solution set.
Here’s what Asigra EVP Eran Farajun had to say about the deal in a prepared statement:
“We are enjoying double-digit customer growth internationally and understand that cloud adoption in China will happen in a unique way, presenting challenges that require localized knowledge of the market. Skycloud, a cloud-focused SI, shares Asigra’s vision while offering a unique understanding and expertise in this region. Working together, we bring market experience and technological excellence to the table for a winning team that delivers affordable, highly secure, convenient backup solutions to the Chinese market.”
Asigra’s already experienced strong growth in 2011 – for more insights on their channel momentum, check out this FastChat video with Asigra VP of Sales Eric Strong. And with the cloud growing abroad as it does at home, this move seems to make sense for Asigra.
