Apptix Intros iOS and Android Device Management Service
Hosted business security and compliance solutions provider Apptix (OSE: APP), an MSPmentor 100 company and also part of the Talkin' Cloud Stock Index, is going after iOS and Android mobility device management, announcing the availability of Apptix Mobile Device Manager, a mobile device management (MDM) service designed to tackle the risks that come with the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend. Here are the details.
Apptix developed the Mobile Device Manager to address organizations’ secure mobility needs through managing mobile device network access, enforcing security policies (including those addressing HITECH and HIPAA), generating compromise alerts and remotely wiping corporate data from corrupt or unauthorized devices. The company said the service enables secure access to enterprise resources, applications and information via major mobile devices, while still allowing organizations to control and protect sensitive corporate data.
IT administrators can control mobile environments through a single console instead of managing multiple environments. In addition, wireless automated provisioning, enrollment and policy authentication allow administrators to manage large-scale deployments. Robust alerts and reporting features are also available to administrators to instantly notify them if an incident occurs.
Not only is the solution geared toward organizations, but the employees, as well. The solution isolates and secures corporate data from personal data and applications on devices. By isolating the data, employee privacy and personal data is protected.
“Research shows that the vast majority of today’s employees use a mobile phone or tablet device for their job, but few organizations can account for all of the devices accessing their corporate data,” said Apptix President and CEO Dave Ehrhardt. “Apptix Mobile Device Manager closes this gap securely. And, the solution is flexible enough to account for all of the additional devices that will be added to your network in the future.”
