This week another cloud-based managed services provider (MSP) announced that it has achieved the AWS (Amazon [AMZN] Web Services) Partner Network MSP competency awarded by AWS. This is the second such announcement we’ve seen in recent weeks. The first was to 2nd Watch, a global systems integrator.  Just how many AWS MSPs are there out there? Here are the details about Stratalux and the rest of the AWS MSP partners.

A quick look at the AWS partner page drill down for managed service provider consultants shows 536 partners globally who have achieved the MSP competency, and a total of 166 of those are in North America. Some of these are big consultancies such as WiPro and CapGemini. Many are specialists in particular technology platforms including Oracle or in industries such as non-profits or healthcare.

AWS currently offers only two competencies to consulting partners, managed services and big data, although the company says it will be rolling out additional competencies in the future. Confirmed Standard or Advanced tier APN Consulting Partner

Stratalux, which announced its AWS MSP competency this week, offers Private PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) solutions. The Los Angeles-based company has its roots in traditional IT but has reorganized to build and manage cloud solutions for enterprise customers. The company also partners with OpsCode and RightScale.
