Abiquo Signs Japanese Distribution Deal

Cloud management solution specialist Abiquo has signed a deal with Japanese distributor and service provider ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) to sell the flagship Abiquo Enterprise Edition to organizations throughout Asia. No doubt, it’s a solid deal for Abiquo and CTC alike. But the larger story is the acceleration of cloud adoption in the Asia Pacific regions.

Here’s what  Tohru Nakano, executive vice-president of the Telecommunication Systems Group of CTC had to say in a prepared statement on why they chose Abiquo:

“After a thorough evaluation of the available cloud management solutions, we chose Abiquo. Abiquo provides unique features like support for heterogeneous environments, six hypervisors with virtual-to-virtual conversion, and the ability to manage globally distributed physical datacenters. Our customers have been asking for a cloud solution, and now we can deliver a powerful offering with Abiquo.”

For their part, Abiquo’s been inking deals with solutions providers all around the world. And competitor RightScale has been experiencing strong growth in the region of their own, recently opening up a Japanese subsidiary. What’s more, perennial RightScale strategic partner Cloud.com signed a Japanese distribution agreement with Kumoya Inc. And don’t forget that Asia Pacific/Tokyo is the newest Amazon Web Services region.

All in all, TalkinCloud thinks that Japan is the cloud market to watch for the rest of the year. And we’d love to hear from systems integrators and service providers doing cloud business in the region.
