Abiquo Continues International Private Cloud Management Momentum

Abiquo, which develops enterprise cloud management software, has inked a partnership with everis, a large multi-national IT consulting firm that’s helping enterprises in Europe and Latin America build and deploy private clouds. For Abiquo, the deal potentially accelerates customer momentum. But more importantly, the deal just another sign that cloud computing is taking off all over the globe.

Under the terms of the partnership, everis will use Abiquo Enterprise Edition to leverage both existing resources and third-party infrastructure, including storage, compute and network resources, when building heterogeneous clouds for their clients. Moreover, everis is leveraging Abiquo’s technology to offer managed cloud services, in addition to building a private cloud, according to the press release.

Here’s what Juan Carlos Ferrer, everis head of global cloud computing outsourcing, had to say on the partnership and why they chose Abiquo:

“We continue evaluating the other Cloud management solutions, but found that Abiquo’s business policy engine is unique. It makes implementing our strategies much easier and customers can use the policy engine to adapt to changing needs. Abiquo gives us the power to manage global infrastructure with heterogeneous environments, so we can recommend the same strategy for VMware users as we would for Hyper-V or open source users.”

Recently, TalkinCloud’s heard a lot about the cloud industry’s expansion in the Asia Pacific markets. But cloud chatter in Latin America also seems to be growing louder.
