6fusion Raises $7 Million in Cloud Management/IaaS Funding
6fusion, which provides metered cloud infrastructure management software and services for the channel, has announced the successful completion of a $7 million Series B funding round led by Grotech Ventures. First-round investor Intersouth Partners also participated. The money will be going toward developing 6fusion’s channel play and spur adoption of its products globally.
As a refresher, 6fusion’s main point of value is the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC), which provides a standard for metering and billing cloud services across public, private and hybrid environments. Recently, the company expanded its executive team with veterans from companies including VMware and Channel Advisor.
John Cowan, co-founder and CEO of 6fusion, had this to say in a prepared statement:
“We are delighted to partner with an experienced and highly successful firm such as Grotech Ventures while continuing to expand our relationship with Intersouth Partners. Our business ecosystem is growing at a remarkable pace and investor confidence is further recognition that 6fusion is building a winning business.”
As is often the case with these funding announcements, Lawson DeVries of Grotech Ventures will join 6fusion’s Board of Directors. In the press release, DeVries praised 6fusion’s data center and IT channel focus.
We’ll continue to keep a close watch 0n 6fusion going forward, so stay tuned for more.
