Microsoft Acquires Israeli Security Firm Secure Islands
Microsoft has acquired Secure Islands, an Israeli information protection and control solutions provider, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will enable Microsoft to help its customers secure their business data on-premises and in the cloud, according to the company.
IndependenceIT has launched Cloud Workspace Suite Version 4.2, a new version of its workspace-as-a-service (WaaS) solution that enables users to automate the building, deployment and management of apps and services in virtual data center environments. The new release also features customizable app catalogs and granular reporting capabilities.
New Relic Unveils Partner Program, Growing Global Partner Ecosystem, at FutureStack15
Software analytics company New Relic has unveiled its New Relic Partner Program designed to encourage MSPs to “advance and engage with software analytics.” New Relic noted that the program will provide its partners with additional analytics tools and support as well.
Box Boosts Windows 10’s Enterprise Potential with New App
Box has released a universal app that allows Windows 10 users to access files stored on its cloud storage platform. “By combining the two apps in Windows 10 as a universal Windows app, it decreased our engineering overhead, and increased our velocity for future iterations,” Box Senior Product Manager Lois Wong wrote in a blog post.
Forrester: Security Experts Prefer Cloud-Based Security Over On-Premise
A new survey from Forrester and Zscaler revealed most IT security decision-makers said complexity, cost reduction and improved security were the primary benefits of cloud-based security-as-a-service (SECaaS). In addition, the study showed that 59 percent of respondents said they use cloud-based security to deliver crowd-shared threat intelligence.
