ManageEngine Broadens Firewall Analyzer For Cloud Management And Tracking
ManageEngine has added a cloud control capability to Firewall Analyzer, its security log analysis and firewall device management software. The IT monitoring and management vendor said this capability includes new reports to “empower security administrators to monitor beyond network app usage and bandwidth consumed and to exercise control over shadow IT.”
vSphere 6, VMware’s ‘One Cloud’ Strategy Centerpiece, Enters Availability
VMware has announced the general availability of VMware vSphere 6, its flagship suite of cloud-building software tools. The virtualization and cloud solutions provider said vSphere 6 includes more than 650 new features and capabilities and is optimized for the most recent release of VMware Horizon 6.
New Opportunities Emerge for Cloud Service Providers
A new Microsoft and 451 Research study revealed nearly 70 percent of the opportunity for cloud services providers (CSPs) now centers on managed services (backup and disaster recovery), application hosting (email and business applications) and security services (threat management). Additionally, study respondents indicated that most of their managed services spending would focus on backup and recovery (68 percent) and disaster recovery (54 percent).
HP to Channel Partners: We’ve Got Your Back
HP has announced several new partner initiatives at its Global Partner Conference 2015 in Las Vegas, including the HP Navigator program and HP AllianceOne Partner program. The technology giant said both programs were designed to help HP partners prepare for its split into HP Enterprise and HP Inc. HP also has unveiled an improved Helion Partner Marketplace that enables resellers to sell, provision, maintain and invoice public cloud services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
IBM, Twitter Announce Cloud Data Services
IBM and Twitter (TWTR) have unveiled cloud data services that allow business professionals and developers to leverage Twitter data to extract business analytics. More than 4,000 IBM professionals now have access to Twitter data and are trained to enhance this information with analytics capabilities from IBM industry solutions and cloud services.
