Survey: Cloud Security Still a Concern Heading into 2016

A recent survey from IT auditing solutions provider Netwrix showed that many businesses are still concerned about cloud security. The survey revealed 65 percent of companies still have security concerns when migrating to the cloud, while 40 percent are still worried about their loss of physical control over data in the cloud.

The Biggest Cloud Security Concerns for Senior IT Executives

A new HDS study revealed 87 percent of business professionals said  their senior management was concerned with security and privacy of corporate data for cloud implementations. Business Review Canada reported the study also showed outages and failures of public cloud implementations were twice as likely to occur when compared to private cloud. 

Barracuda Launches Cloud Archiving Service for Enterprise

Barracuda Networks has released an early access version of its Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service designed to help enterprise users back up and save communications data to the cloud. The service requires no hardware or software installation and is priced at $2 per user per month or $20 dollars per user annually.

Survey: Lack of Skills Still Hamper Ability to Deliver Cyber Security

New data from cybersecurity training platform provider Cybrary revealed a lack of professional skills is still hindering companies’ ability to deliver cybersecurity to meet their evolving needs. Cybrary found the majority of IT professionals said they believe there is a shortage of cybersecurity professionals worldwide. 

Study Details State of Cloud Computing in 2015

Cloud usage is expected to become even more widespread in 2016, according to a new study from app developer Soliant Consulting. Soliant noted 88 percent of businesses used public cloud services this year and has predicted 36 percent of all data will be stored in the cloud by the end of next year.
