10 Worst Cloud Outages of 2014 (So Far)
Even Microsoft (MSFT) is susceptible to cloud outages. The multinational technology giant this week suffered an Azure Storage services outage that lasted roughly 11 hours.
Microsoft Corporate Vice President Jason Zander has apologized to Azure Storage customers for the outage and pointed out that his company is investigating the incident.
“When we have an incident like this, our main focus is rapid time to recovery for our customers, but we also work to closely examine what went wrong and ensure it never happens again,” Zander wrote in a blog post.
While the Azure Storage outage interrupted services across the United States, Europe and parts of Asia, it is merely one of several cloud outages that have affected cloud users worldwide this year.
Which cloud outages have caused the most damage? Here’s a closer look at 10 of the worst cloud outages for 2014 (so far).

I think your ranking is a little mixed up
I’m curious how your article specifically indicates “Azure Storage services outage that lasted roughly 11 hours” but it comes up dead last as to ranking of top ten worse outages. Is it because no one really expects much of Microsoft any more?
I’m certain Microsoft will tell you they have a significant market share so it must mean something to someone. Many Microsoft Partner have chosen to utilize their Azure minutes to not only learn the product and test things out, they are running some part of their business on it. And some are running apps and solutions for their clients on it.
Again, just curious.
Thanks
