Microsoft, Cisco, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Palo Alto Networks and IBM are among visionary leaders on the latest MarketsandMarkets 360 Quadrant for top cybersecurity companies.

The MarketsandMarkets cybersecurity quadrant aims to help businesses make quicker and more informed decisions. The market research firm used companies’ product portfolios and business strategies to construct ranking quadrants.

The firm will revise the cybersecurity quadrant every six months based on market and regional studies. and advancements in the cybersecurity industry.

Top Performers

In the cybersecurity sector, Microsoft is a top vendor. Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics (ATA) assists in threat detection services.

Cisco provides a full cybersecurity platform to its large enterprise customers.  It has 300,000 security customers, and protects 61 million endpoints and 840,000 networks with its solutions. Approximately 80% of Cisco’s security clients start with one of four products, and a quarter of consumers move on to buy at least one more security product.

AWS offers enterprise-grade security and analytics tools that may provide complete visibility into application traffic. AWS Data Protection services assist organizations in protecting their data, accounts and workloads from illegal access.

Palo Alto Networks provides digital-age solutions such as firewalls spanning clouds, networks and mobile devices. It has formed strategic alliances with prominent cloud providers like AWS and Microsoft Azure. As a result of these relationships, Palo Alto has added 12,500 new customers, an average of 2,500 per quarter.

IBM safeguards the entire company network against known and new threats. It aids in the detection and prevention of sophisticated threats.

McAfee offers IT security solutions to a wide range of industrial clients. Its software and hardware prevent viruses, spam and spyware. They also handle DLP, mobile security, host intrusion prevention, encryption and email security.

Cybersecurity Software Vendor Categories

MarketsandMarkets categorized the top 20 of approximately 90 cybersecurity software vendors under visionary leaders, innovators and dynamic differentiators.

Microsoft, AWS, Palo Alto, IBM, McAfee, Trend Micro, Mandiant, Fortinet and Cisco are visionary leaders. They’re the leading market players in terms of new developments such as product launches, innovative technologies and the adoption of growth strategies.

Alert Logic, Malwarebytes, Avast, OpenText (Webroot), Kaspersky and eSentire are innovators. They have demonstrated substantial product innovations compared to their competitors. These companies have focused on enhancing their product portfolios.

Arctic Wolf, Code42 and Havoc Shield are emerging leaders with niche product and service offerings. Their business strategies are not as strong as that of the established vendors, MarketsandMarkets said. The emerging vendors include new entrants in the market (emerging in terms of product portfolio and geographic reach) and require time to gain significant traction in the market.

Qualys, RSA Security and F5 Networks are differentiators. They are established players with strong business strategies. However, they have a weaker product portfolio compared to the visionary leaders, according to the market research firm. They generally focus only on a specific type of technology related to the product.
