Tech Data Debuts Security and Information Management Business Unit
Tech Data (TECD) is expanding its list of available services with the launch of the Security and Information Management business unit, the distributor announced on Monday.
The new business unit will work to drive customer enablement, recruit new resellers and bring more security vendor partners into Tech Data’s partner ecosystem in the Americas. Tech Data Director of Product Marketing, Security and Information Management Tracy Holtz will lead the new unit, and will report to Tech Data Senior Vice President of U.S. Marketing Brian Davis, according to the official press release.
Davis said the division was created to enable its solution providers to combat the increasing number of cyberattacks, as well as to capture a larger percentage of the rapidly expanding cybersecurity market.
The unit will focus primarily on delivering customer enablement tools to partners so they can, in turn, expand their own knowledgebase to their customers. Tech Data said it will offer products and services specifically related to network security, data security, enterprise architecture, endpoint security and cloud security, among others.
“The need for security solutions has evolved quickly, and in anticipation of this, Tech Data has laid the foundation for a comprehensive security practice that works for both our security vendors and solution providers,” said Holtz, in a statement. “I am excited for the opportunity to lead our talented team, and we look forward to the continued expansion of our services, education programs and vendor portfolio to deliver best-in-class security expertise for our partners.”
Tech Data’s pledge to help combat enterprise cyberthreats is sure to be welcomed with open arms by the channel community, especially as the number of attacks (especially DDoS attacks) increase in size and sophistication.
