ShoreTel Taps Ingram Micro to Distribute Its UC Portfolio

Ingram Micro’s Advanced Technology Division will offer all things ShoreTel, with Ingram partners getting access to the vendor’s complete UC solutions set. That means not just its UC solutions, but also ShoreTel Mobility — a softphone solution that works with existing mobile phones — and its IP PBX technologies. “UC solutions represent a high-growth, high-margin sales and service opportunity for our channel partners,” said Paul Bay, executive vice president at Ingram Micro North America, regarding the agreement.
ShoreTel’s claim to fame is plug-and-play simplicity and scalability, and channel partners will now have access to Ingram Micro’s business, sales and technical support to help them expand or move into selling and deploying UC solutions, according to Ingram Micro. Both ShoreTel and Ingram plan to invest in the training, development and “cross-trained sales engineers” needed to fully flesh-out partner support and Ingram Micro also plans to offer education for channel partners.
