Ingram Upgrades Online Professional Services Network
Distributor Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) has upgraded its online professional services network by segmenting it into well-defined categories that address a wider range of service offerings, expanding its automated capabilities and rebranding it as IM Link.
The new, broader platform replaces the 15-year-old Ingram Micro Services Network (IMSN) and IM Onsite, and is open to channel partners in North America. IM Link encompasses four distinct categories of offerings—planning, implementation, management and support—that cover a wide variety of services such as software application and development, integration and data migration services, assessment services and remote service delivery, as well as traditional break/fix and installation.
“IM Link is IMSN on steroids—it’s not only bigger, it’s simply better and offers the professional services and advanced services expertise channel partners need to grow their businesses without adding unnecessary costs and risks,” said Jason Bystrak, Ingram Micro Services Division sales director.
Ingram is not charging partners membership dues, transaction fees or monthly services fees to use IM Link. The idea is to make it easier to locate and collaborate with IT service providers inside the distributor’s partner network for technology lifecycle services. Those providers engaging with IM Link have been thoroughly evaluated by Ingram Micro, with each having signed a non-compete and confidentiality agreement and agreeing to deliver services and support under the brand name of the IM Link customer requesting the service.
The distributor said it is urging channel partners to leverage IM Link as a cost-effective, easy and efficient means to locate industry expertise, business services and technical talent helpful to winning new business. The service also can be used by partners to fulfill specific projects, deploy regional or national rollouts and facilitate ongoing service agreements without risk, brand confusion or price discrepancy, according to Ingram.
“Ingram Micro is all about simplifying success for our channel partners and IM Link is a high-value service that makes it easy and safe for our partners to grow their businesses through partnership and say ‘yes’ to business deals and service opportunities they may otherwise have walked away from,” said Renee Bergeron, Ingram Managed Services and Cloud Computing vice president.
In building IM Link, Ingram Micro incorporated best practices learned from running IMSN, specifically the ability to perform extensive searches quickly, manage project workflows and conduct all financial transactions for business engagements online in a safe and secure environment. The distributor said it will offer live demos of IM Link at its Cloud Summit this week in Phoenix.
