The Digital Locker is but one of a number of similar services the distributor intends to offer this year through its Software Licensing Desk, said Jodi Honore, Ingram vendor management executive director. “Our new Digital Locker, combined with our dedicated team of experts, licensing desk and partner enablement resources, gives our North American partners a powerful way to sell more efficiently, build business growth and compete more effectively in the market.”
She said the distributor’s new electronic service delivery model not only expands its dealings with Microsoft but also simplifies and streamlines sales for channel partners. Ingram’s commercial markets division and its Microsoft business unit will support the Digital Locker initiative with a team of sales, licensing, technical and marketing experts.
“Ingram Micro is the undisputed leader in the software licensing space because we’ve made simplifying success, executing to plan and delivering a distinct business advantage to our channel partners top priorities,” Honore said.
Ingram channel partner Softwaremedia.com said that the new Ingram Digital Locker service will improve its business. The solution provider offers a one-stop service for online software purchases and discounted prices, licensing and services.
“In this new era of electronic software delivery, there’s no waiting for a box to ship, which saves us thousands of dollars in hard costs, and Ingram Micro’s Digital Locker makes it so easy for us and our customers to manage licenses,” said Todd Francis, Softwaremedia.com general manager.
