EnterpriseDB (EDB) is working to expand its partner program to feature greater support for its independent software vendors (ISVs). The enterprise Postgres provider announced its new EDB ISV Program this week, designed to give vendors access to specialized engineering resources for certifying products while offering optimized price packages optimized for Postgres Plus Advanced Server bundles.
“Our customer and partner profile has become more diverse and we want to foster a direct, collaborative relationship with other software vendors,” said Ed Boyajian, CEO and president of EnterpriseDB, in a prepared statement. “Our new ISV Program provides the resources that help vendors bring better applications to market faster. And by certifying our products with other vendors, end users have the assurance that all components of their infrastructure have been optimized for Postgres.”
Rising demand for Postgres among organizations is the primary reason for certifying its Postgres Plus Advanced Server with other enterprise data infrastructure solutions and applications, the company noted. The ISV Program will feature specialized pricing and support options for companies that bundle Postgres with individual solutions, and EnterpriseDB plans to include pricing and support options for SaaS solutions that integrate Postgres on the back end as well.
EnterpriseDB’s enterprise-class relational database is capable of running Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Unix and Apple’s OS X server platforms. The company has promised Oracle compatibility for its Postgres Plus Advanced Server to make it simpler for users to integrate and port existing applications.
EDB recently announced its plans to expand its Postgres Plus Cloud Database to include support for Amazon (AMZN) Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). The company’s new ISV program is the latest push it the company’s efforts to make its Postgres more accessible to new software partners.
