Dell Taps Ingram Micro, Synnex for Federal Sales
Dell has selected Ingram Micro (IM) and Synnex (SNX) as it looks to expand its federal sales in the distribution space.
The first, with Ingram Micro, expands the distributor’s fledgling Federal Advantage Program and provides a simplified sales cycle, according to Ingram Micro. The partnership will provide resellers with access to Dell’s portfolio in addition to the distributor’s cloud, data center, networking and security solutions.
Synnex was also granted access to Dell’s Federal business, expanding the distributor’s expanding the company’s current federal efforts with the addition of Dell’s sizable portfolio. The addition of Dell’s Federal portfolio expands upon Synnex’s prior agreement to integrate the company’s commercial portfolio into its channel business last year.
The additions to the Dell program marks the first time that the hardware giant has granted distribution access to its Federal business, according to the announcement.
“This is always a busy time of year for our Federal channel partners, and Ingram Micro is primed and ready to serve as an indispensable partner,” said Anthony Vottima, executive director of Ingram Micro Vertical Markets, in a statement. “Adding the Dell Federal business is a timely and strategic win that builds on our value by expanding the choice and flexibility channel partners gain by working with Ingram Micro.”

Through the program, partners have access to a GSA schedule and GSA order desk via Ingram Micro’s Promark division as well as additional engineering, sales and professional services to to grow their federal business opportunities.
“Expanding our relationship with Ingram Micro to include the Federal market further enables our mutual channel partners to take advantage of the busy buying season,” said Frank Vitagliano, vice president of Global Partner Strategy and Programs at Dell, in a statement. “Ingram Micro is a strategic Dell Global Business partner with a reputation for excellence in business enablement and execution, and we look forward to replicating our success in the Federal market.”
