Channel Program Roundup: SmartDeploy, M5, Power Assure

Howdy, and welcome once again to the Channel Partner Program Roundup, our weekly collection of goings on in the partner community. This week, we've got news from SmartDeploy, M5 Networks and Power Assure, so saddle up and let's get riding.

Howdy, and welcome once again to the Channel Partner Program Roundup, our weekly collection of goings on in the partner community. This week, we’ve got news from SmartDeploy, M5 Networks and Power Assure, so saddle up and let’s get riding.

SmartDeploy: IT management vendor SmartDeploy expanded its SmartDeploy Partner Program to provide resellers and partners with “additional competitive pricing, resources and support to address customer problems around deploying and managing desktops and servers even in the most diverse environments,” according to the company.

The tiered program includes license sales and associated services, as well as the company’s eponymous SmartDeploy Enterprise, which aims to reduce the cost, time and effort required to perform OS and application deployment. New partners include Bear Data Solutions, MicroAge, SoftwareOne and WinMill Software.

M5 Networks: The cloud division of UC provider ShoreTel has added Datamart as an Alliance partner. As a ShoreTel Cloud Division channel partner, Datamart will now offer customers cloud-based voice, unified communications and contact center solutions, in addition to on-premise systems.

Datamart is also a current ShoreTel Gold Champion Partner for premise-based solutions.

“Datamart has been an established ShoreTel partner for over 10 years and we are proud to have them as the first ShoreTel partner to join the channel program for the cloud division,” said Bob Maute, ShoreTel’s cloud division vice president of channels and alliances.

Power Assure: The data center infrastructure and energy management vendor Power Assure has appointed Peter Maltbaek as vice president of Channel Sales. He will oversee Power Assure’s partner program on a global basis.

“Pete’s technical expertise covers a very wide range from power management systems, energy efficiency, smart grid communications and the design and implementation of demand response programs,” said Power Assure President and CEO Brad Wurtz. “I am pleased to welcome Pete to our team and look forward to his contributions during this growth phase for the company.”

Prior to Power Assure, Maltbaek was at Silver Spring Networks, responsible for the company’s partner development activities in utility distribution automation. Before Silver Spring, he worked at CPower, a successful startup providing energy efficiency and demand response programs and services.
