Women In the Channel: Building Business Value

By Larry Lannon

The Channel Partners Conference and Expo is coming to a Caesars Palace near you, March 26-29. (Go here to learn more about the Conference and Expo.)

For the third time in the past year, the conference will include a workshop everyone at Channel Partners is particularly proud to include on the program: Women in the Channel.

The Women in the Channel workshop will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday. Everyone is invited.

Why are we particularly proud of the Women in the Channel workshop?

First, the workshop is the product of a small group of determined women who have created rewarding careers for themselves in the channel. These women are determined to provide other women with information, analysis, support and mentoring help that the women pioneers in the channel did not themselves always receive. This is a terrific group of doers, the kind of people who succeed, and want others to succeed, the kind of people who build businesses and energize entire industries.

In fact, the same group that created the initial workshop last spring has created an ongoing, permanent organization, in their words, a grassroots organization made up of women who are in leadership, ownership and revenue-generating roles in the alternate sales channel sector of the telecommunications industry. Month after month, we are responsible for generating sales for our companies and creating wealth for our families.” For more information about the Women in the Channel organization, go here.

Second, the workshop is fun. The women in the room are smart, funny, communicative and friendly. The workshops atmosphere is structured, but far from formal or stuffy. The workshop includes ample opportunity to network with channel professionals you already know and make important new contacts.

Third, any serious effort to expand the talent pool in the channel merits Channel Partners support, and this is a very serious effort to build business value for the entire channel. The Women in the Channel workshop will be sponsored by AT&T and ACC Business.

Make sure you make time to attend the Women in the Channel workshop. The Women in the Channel are doing good work for the entire channel and creating a great vibe at the workshop.
