NTT Security, which acquired WhiteHat Security in 2019, has renamed it NTT Application Security.

The new name will not affect any change in the organization‘s ownership. It merely reflects a closer identity with the parent company, NTT said. NTT Application Security remains a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of NTT Security.

NTT Application Security will continue to be powered by WhiteHat’s cloud-based application security platform.

“Changing our name to NTT Application Security will help better align our brand with NTT,” he said. “As we continue to invest and expand outside the United States, leveraging NTT’s global brand equity and reputation is key to driving our growth.”

Partners can leverage NTT’s global brand recognition and its portfolio of solutions to their customers, Gerry said.

“And, while our name is changing, NTT Application Security will continue to operate independently and prioritize our ability to enable, support and drive business through our incredible footprint of channel partners, he said.

Portfolio Addition

Alongside the name change, the company will now join NTT’s SOC-as-a-service portfolio. This will bolster the organization’s application security capabilities.

“NTT Security is one of the leading security solution providers in the world, from service offerings such as security consulting, MDR, managed services and more,” Gerry said. “Our partners will have more opportunities to drive value for their clients and revenue for their business.”

The name change allows the company to deepen and strengthen its relationships with customers, partners and prospects, he said.

“We have always been a customer-and partner-first company, and that will never change,” Gerry said. “From our perspective, the key to developing the finest technology and services is to engage with your customers and partners early and often, and listen to their feedback. This approach will not change as we pivot away from the WhiteHat brand name. We have some exciting announcements on the horizon and look forward to sharing more later this year.”
