Vertiscale Launches WaaS Solution for MSPs in Healthcare Market
Vertiscale has launched a workspace-as-a-service (WaaS) solution designed to support managed service providers that serve the healthcare market.
The company said its WaaS “enables secure, remote access to applications, desktops and protected health information (PHI) from any device.”
This release allows MSPs to deliver security with remote access and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) capabilities, Vertiscale said, to reduce the risk of data breaches.
In addition, Vertiscale noted its WaaS improves compliance for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
“MSPs using Vertiscale can provide their clients with an easy-to-use secure solution that allows them to access their applications and data without worrying about the technical challenges presented by HIPAA,” a Vertiscale spokesperson told MSPmentor. “Clients will have security, as well as the ability to work remotely, all from a cloud-enabled IT system that makes for a seamless user experience.”
Vertiscale pointed out its WaaS operates as a hybrid cloud-enabled software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, and an MSP pays only for the licenses it needs based on a per-user/per-month fee.
That way, an MSP can bundle the WaaS in with the rest of its offerings or charge for it separately, according to Vertiscale.
Vertiscale said its WaaS may help MSPs capitalize on a healthcare market that is expected to grow.
A recent International Data Corp (IDC) Health Insights study, for example, revealed 40 percent of healthcare providers reported their IT budgets are growing.
The study also showed 18 percent of new software spend in the healthcare market is going into SaaS, and 24 percent is going into projects that leverage managed hosting by a third party.
