Veeam Launches Virtualization Management Partner Program

Veeam Launches Virtualization Management Partner Program

Veeam, providers of solutions for VMware data center environments, has launched a partner program to help MSPs and cloud services providers manage, protect, and, yes, monetize virtualized systems. Here are some details.

The ProPartner Service Provider (PSP) program is designed to align to the way each individual MSP does business, according to Veeam’s press release. Unlike most VMware management solutions, Veeam says that their products allow the service provider to prioritize virtual resources by customer or SLA, giving them a lot of flexibility to deliver new offerings and license agreements.

As to what functionality Veeam products actually provide, from their press release:

  • Perform capacity planning and provide chargeback reports on resource allocation and utilization per client or per application (Veeam Reporter Enterprise plus Veeam Business View)
  • Offer different SLA data protection and disaster recovery (DR) with different recovery point and recovery time objectives (RPOs and RTOs) (Veeam Backup & Replication)
  • Monitor performance by customer or application, as well as deliver on SLAs by customer or server type (Veeam Monitor plus Veeam Business View)
This announcement is indicative of a recent trend: we here at MSPmentor haven’t heard much about brand-new virtualization platforms. As Veeam -- which it took me this long to realize was a pun on “VM” -- seems to realize, the real opportunities are in helping MSPs to roll out new services based on what they already have.
