UNIADEX, Cloud.com Partner in Japan for Private Clouds

Open source platform developer Cloud.com is no stranger to the Japanese cloud market, and now it’s expanding its presence there through an agreement with UNIADEX under which infrastructure management provider will use the CloudStack platform for its new private cloud deployment business.

Under this agreement, UNIADEX will help its customers develop and deploy Cloud.com CloudStack-based private clouds, from planning to implementation to 24/7 support, according to the press release. UNIADEX, the MSP subsidiary of Nihon Unisys Group, is a veritable giant in the Japanese IT marketplace, with all 180 locations nationwide offering both the cloud services and that ubiquitous support.

Here’s what Mitsumasa Okamoto, UNIADEX senior corporate officer, had to say in a prepared statement:

“We are seeing an increasing number of enterprises turning to private cloud; however, the complexity associated with developing enterprise clouds made us recognize that we needed to provide our customers with a comprehensive private cloud product. Cloud.com CloudStack is a core element of this solution due to its amazing ability to provide the scalability, performance and ease of use enterprises need to successfully build a private cloud. Using CloudStack’s exceptional features, UNIADEX can deliver a one-stop solution to enable our customers remove the complexity of transitioning to a cloud operating model.”

For Cloud.com’s part, this just represents an expansion of their existing efforts in the region: CloudStack already powers the Tata InstaCompute public IaaS and Kumoya cloud offerings in Japan, and it’s expecting to see more growth in the market this year.
