SysAid IT 8.0: Mobile Help Desk Software for iPads, Smart Phones

SysAid Technologies, which develops IT Service Management software, has launched SysAid IT 8.0. SysAid says the new release is a mobile help desk and asset management platform that supports Apple iPad and Google Android tablets, plus Blackberry and Windows mobile devices. Here are some key points worth noting.

SysAid IT 8.0 is available as a Sofware-as-a-Service (SaaS) or as an in-house version, and a full version is free for small businesses of 100 or fewer users. We’re checking to see if SysAid will also promote version 8.0 to MSPs and VARs seeking mobile help desk solutions.

SysAid IT 8.0 focuses heavily on IT security. It lets users self-reset their passwords and self-unlock their accounts using wizards, customize security questions and is compatible with LDAP password policies, according to the company.

Mobile device management (MDM) and mobile-enabled help desk software each seem to be gaining momentum within the managed services market.
