Storage Guardian Branches Out To Cloud Compute for SMBs
Storage Guardian, which, as you might guess from the name, specializes in cloud backup solutions for the SMB market, is branching out with the launch of a metered cloud computing service that’s available exclusively through their MSP an VAR channel partners. Storage Guardian Cloud Compute, like the company’s core online backup solutions, is aimed at helping even the smallest company take advantage of the cloud’s potential.
The pitch, according to Storage Guardian’s press release: rather than buy a new server or upgrade your number of software licenses, look into using Storage Guardian Cloud Compute to host applications as SaaS in a virtual private cloud. And customers only pay for the cloud resources they use, with the metering handled by 6fusion technology and their Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) metric.
And of course, Storage Guardian is touting the platform’s ease of migration, high availability, and security, with a special note of its SAS 70 compliance. Any application currently available as a shared resource, they say, can be easily moved to a Storage Guardian Cloud Compute private cloud.
Overall, Storage Guardian Cloud Compute is far from a new idea. But it’s worth noting if only because it’s not very common that a cloud compute service provider makes sure the channel is involved in the sales process.
