StillSecure Launches File Integrity Monitoring for Corporate Compliance

StillSecure generated some managed services and cloud services chatter earlier this year through partnerships with XO Communications and CoreSite. Now, StillSecure is playing an encore by launching File Integrity Monitoring, which could help MSPs and their customers to meet regulatory compliance mandates.

“With XO, we’re offering a cloud-based security solution. With CoreSite, we’re joining their community and offering security in the cloud to their collocation clients,” said StillSecure Vice President of Business Development Steven Harper. Next up, the new StillSecure File Integrity Monitoring solution offers…

  • Compatibility with Major Operating Systems: Mac OS X, Windows (Server 2003, Server 2007, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), Linux, and BSD are a few of the operating systems on this list.

  • Support of Agent-Less Scanning of Router and Switch Configuration Files for Unauthorized Changes: StillSecure’s solution can also regularly check for running versus saved configuration virtualization.

  • A daily scan of all signatures: Organizations are required by PCI Security Standards to have a weekly check, but companies have the option of setting up a daily check.

  • Monitoring of unauthorized changes to virtual hosts, including VMWare ESX: The newest version is actually VMWare ESXi. VMWare is encouraging clients to migrate from ESX to ESXi to improve their security and simplify their hypervisor management.

“We’ve been working on a file integrity solution since the end of last year,” said Harper, who noted that StillSecure made a strategic decision to enter the PCI Security Standard space in May when it released the PCI Complete. StillSecure File Integrity Monitoring fits in with that decision. StillSecure has been an MSSP for well over three years and has over 1,000 clients mainly in the mid-enterprise market (typically $1 billion or less in annual revenues). StillSecure laid the groundwork for expanding its MSSP offering in 2009 when the company began pursuing channel relationships.

StillSecure File Integrity Monitoring is managed 24 x 7 x 365 by StillSecure engineers working in the company’s Security Operations Centers.
