StillSecure Develops Cloud Security Solution, Inks Partners

StillSecure, the network security and compliance solution provider, used the spotlight of the Hosting & Cloud Transformation Summit to release the StillSecure Cloud Security Monitoring Service (SMS). It’s a network security solution for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) providers and users, and it’s free for customers through the SoftLayer Technology Partners Marketplace portal.

StillSecure says that IaaS customers can use the new solution as a hosted firewall and IaaS providers can offer it through customer portals. It’s completely API-driven, so it can be embedded inside of a cloud provider’s customer portal. For SoftLayer  Technologies customers, Cloud SMS is available via free download through the SoftLayer Customer Portal. Beginning in 2012, StillSecure and SoftLayer will offer a premium version of Cloud SMS based on an individual customer basis. That version will be priced based on volume and features.

StillSecure has also formed partnerships with datacenter and cloud providers Host.net, Peak 10 and ViaWest in order to sell the new StillSecure Cloud SMS solution. Under the terms of the agreements, the three companies will make the Cloud SMS solutions available to their customers immediately.

It’s a different direction for StillSecure from its last announcement — a multi-tenant environment to meet the needs of its diverse MSP client base. But it’s not all that surprising. StillSecure Chief Technology Officer James Brown hinted in August that StillSecure would be announcing some major cloud developments at the Hosting & Cloud Transformation Summit, and now the company has delivered. He also said StillSecure is focusing on mobile device management (MDM), so we’ll keep our ears to the ground for any further news.
