Quosal is making it easier for managed service providers (MSPs) to connect with customers on a personal level.

The Bothell, Washington-based quoting platform provider has added a video feature to its flagship offering that allows sales representatives to insert a video into their quotes or proposals.

This new feature enables sales reps to explain more about a quote or product, Quosal said, or deliver a personal message to customers. The company first previewed the feature at IT Nation in November 2014.

Incorporating personal videos into the quoting process is a “Quosal innovation,” according to Quosal CEO Kent McNall.

These videos enable sales reps to add a personal tone to a typically impersonal process, McNall said, and ultimately could help MSPs maintain a one-on-one relationship with customers.

“What we [heard] from MSPs very consistently was the message: ‘We want to keep the personal touch in our sales process. We’re concerned our reps rely too heavily on technology in their selling processes and not enough on personal customer interaction,'” McNall told MSPmentor. “These clients are ecstatic about the ability to be far more personal in the sales process through personal videos.”

Quosal also noted that sales reps can record a personal video that can be posted directly to the Order Porter delivered to customers, allowing users to make a video without leaving the Quosal application.

McNall said Quosal continues to explore opportunities to support MSPs throughout the quoting process, and his company’s product roadmap includes:

  • New levels of integration with vendor and manufacturer product and pricing resources

  • Tighter integration with the supply chain to automate the procurement process after business is won

  • Specialized integrations with manufacturers such as Dell (DELL) and Cisco Systems (CSCO) to streamline the quoting process

  • New levels of functionality with mobile devices for on-the-go quoting and closing

  • Extension of personal videos to new levels of innovation in video presentation

  • Expansion of Quosal’s Order Porter patents into new areas of functionality for MSPs

  • Extended integrations with Quosal’s customer relationship management (CRM), professional services automation (PSA) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) partners

McNall previously described Quosal as “sales acceleration technology” and pointed out that Quosal is always looking to find new technologies to enhance the user and customer experience.

Additionally, he said Quosal’s new personal video feature reflects how his company is working to make it easier for sales reps to sell more.
