Passportal Password Protection Solutions Business Model Expands to Resale
Passportal unveiled its first global partner program this week, designed to take the password management tool that many partners were already using and enable partners resell to their end customers.
The PassPortal Cloud Partner Program this week’s goal is to help its partner ecosystem sell the company’s password protection and management service solutions. The program is a global initiative marketed toward VARs, MSPs and ISVs and is structured like many other programs of its ilk, with a standard three-tier breakdown. Basic partners will be placed into the Certified category, with middle-tier and top-tier partners occupying the Select and Premier levels, respectively.
“Our new Passportal Cloud Partner Program provides everything channel partners need to successfully market, sell and support password protection and management as a stand-alone service or integral part of larger service engagement,” said Dan Wensley, Passportal channel chief, in a statement. “Knowing what works and what doesn’t for channel partners, we developed a partner program that is straightforward, simplifies sales and rewards success.”
While Passportal’s program bears a number of similarities to other cookie-cutter partner programs, it differs in that resellers are required to purchase a refundable Passportal Reseller Starter Package upon entry to the program. The package includes basic features like marketing materials and solutions for technical and sales training, as well as 5 internal user seats and 10 client-based user seats, according to the company.
Passportal is also offering an instructor-led reseller training program for partners looking to learn more about carrying its solutions.
The company announced its partner program during CompTIA ChannelCon 2015 in Chicago, where more than 1,200 industry professionals, VARs and MSPs gathered to learn about the company’s latest channel initiatives and training programs.
