NetEnrich: What Exactly Are Closet-to-Cloud Services?

Sometimes I ask dumb questions… a lot of them. Such was the case this week during a meeting with NetEnrich Senior VP and GM Justin Crotty, and Corporate Marketing VP Jennifer Baier Anaya. NetEnrich has been pushing beyond its NOC (network operations center) stronghold to offer IT as a Service to VARs and MSPs. And now, NetEnrich is branding a Closet-to-Cloud IT services portfolio. So it was time for me to ask the obvious question: What exactly are Closet-to-Cloud services?

Sure, I had some educated guesses. I figured NetEnrich was prepared to monitor and manage on-premise and cloud-based servers. But Crotty pushed a bit beyond that area, mentioning that the services increasingly involve items like unified communications management, virtualization management and even some IT project work. One example: NetEnrich can assist MSPs — and their end-customers — with database development and administration.

NetEnrich has organized its services portfolio into three segments:

Practices within those segments, according to NetEnrich, include:

There’s also a services on demand component.

Going to Market

The NetEnrich effort includes close working relationships with Ingram Micro Services and Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions; both distributors are working to educate VARs and MSPs about NetEnrich’s NOC and other services. I’m familiar with the Ingram-NetEnrich relationship based on the NOC deal they entered in 2010. I’m less familiar with the Arrow-NetEnrich relationship but will check it out a bit during an Arrow cloud event scheduled for April 20 in Atlanta, Ga.

In the meantime, NetEnrich’s closet-to-cloud strategy seems clearer to me.
