My Digital Shield (MDS) has appointed IT security veteran Jason Graf as its vice president of operations.

Graf will be responsible for supporting MDS’s channel partners and small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers, according to MDS. He will report directly to CEO Andrew Bagrin, MDS said, and is expected to “spearhead operational efforts and improve standardization processes to accelerate the success of MDS’s channel partners.”

“My Digital Shield has offered me the opportunity to leverage my background in IT security, particularly within the SMB space, to aid both partners and their customers in maximizing usage of MDS’s security solutions,” Graf said in a prepared statement. “I look forward to helping grow our team’s expertise within the always intriguing world of IT security.”

Graf has more than 15 years of IT security experience. He most recently served as director of project services at electronic medical record (EMR) solutions provider The IT Company and also has held positions at managed security services provider (MSSP) Sword & Shield Enterprise Security and MSPmentor 501 honoree Claris Networks.

Graf represents one of several recent new hires for MDS as well.

MDS named Rick Green, who has more than 30 years of networking industry experience, as its executive vice president of channel sales in January.

In addition, the Wilmington, Delaware-based security-as-a-service (SECaaS) provider unveiled an advisory board in October that includes three IT security veterans:

MDS offers a cloud-based security solution to MSPs and SMBs, and Bagrin noted that MDS will continue to search for “innovative thinkers” to add to its team.

“We are introducing a new solution within an ever-changing environment and technical space, so the need for creative minds and innovative thinkers is paramount,” he told MSPmentor.
