MSP Builds Cloud Storage Services Atop NetEx, Tivoli

Triangle, a managed service provider that specializes in disaster recovery services, is leveraging a NetEx appliance and IBM's Tivoli platform for a new cloud-based storage offering. The announcement comes a few days after IBM said MSPs will be the company's next-generation business partners.

In Triangle's case, the company is using the NetEx HyperIP WAN Optimization Virtual Appliance and the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager. The two solutions reduce infrastructure costs and allow MSPs to add cloud services to their offerings very quickly, according to NetEx.

"Using HyperIP with IBM's Tivoli Open Storage Manager is a huge boost for our business as it gives our customers an extreme level of confidence and peace of mind that our disaster recovery solutions operate seamlessly to accelerate network data movement," Triangle Managing Director Richard O'Brien said in a prepared statement.

The NetEx HyperIP speeds up backup, recovery, replication and migration time without adding bandwidth or requiring any infrastructure upgrades, according to NetEx. IBM, meanwhile, has made it clear that Tivoli is a big part of the IBM SmartCloud strategy.
