Newly appointed Mformation president and CEO Kevin A. Wood said he plans to expand the company's base of premiere customers.

Mobile device management vendor Mformation Software Technologies Inc. has appointed Kevin Wood as president and CEO. Woods will take over for Todd DeLaughter. Here are the details.

Wood said in a statement that he plans to continue the company’s vision of delivering the next generation of solutions for managing mobility.

Wood brings more than 20 years of executive leadership to Mformation, the company said in a prepared statement. Wood previously served as president and CEO of Airwide Solutions, a mobile data, messaging, security and content solutions company, where he focused on profitability, growth and market leadership.

Before Airwide Solutions, Wood served as president of Americas for Comverse Network Systems. During his tenure at Comverse and its predecessor company Boston Technology, he served on the management team that grew Comverse from the first few million dollars to over $1.2 billion in revenues.

Wood was also the founder and CEO of Cambria Technology Group, an advisory firm working with private equity firms interested in mobile-enabled services, including enterprise mobility, mobile security, mobile applications and M2M services.

“With Clearlake’s backing [the private investment firm that acquired all Mformation’s assets last year], and the growing market demand for more robust mobility management solutions that can scale to handle millions of mobile endpoints, Mformation has a superb opportunity to seize market share,” Wood said. “We will work to retain and expand the company’s installed base of premiere customers, and to ensure that all of our customers continue to get strategic value from Mformation’s solutions for managing the mobile experience.”

“We are very excited to have Kevin as the CEO of Mformation,” said Behdad Eghbali, founding partner of Clearlake Capital Partners in a statement. “We believe Kevin’s combination of operating skill, mobile technology experience, and market knowledge make him a fantastic choice to lead Mformation as it capitalizes on the rapid expansion of the enterprise managed mobility market.”
