ManageEngine Helps MSPs Manage VMware, Virtualization
ManageEngine, which develops MSP software and IT service desk software, has released version 10.1 of the ManageEngine Applications Manager. The update can now monitor VMware vFabric tc Server — the latest sign that virtualization management has pushed beyond large data centers into the small and midsize business (SMB) market.
According to ManageEngine, the new release supports:
- Health and performance monitoring for VMware vFabric tc Server instances
- Health and performance monitoring for Spring applications deployed in those servers
- Performance statistics and reports
- Insight into troubleshooting procedures in an attempt to reduce downtime
Generally speaking, a growing list of managed services tools now support VMware and virtualized environments. Most tools start off with VMware support, with potential support for Microsoft Hyper-V added at a later date.
The virtualization trend has also spilled over into the cloud storage and disaster recovery markets for MSPs. Most recently, Doyenz announced rCloud, which “offers recovery for virtual environments in minutes instead of days.

1. I think your claim is a bit out of touch. I think the majority if IT shops at least has some basic VMware management tools in place.
2. Is it safe to assume you work for MindArray?
