Avtex, a managed communication and collaboration solutions provider, has agreed to leverage Nexsan‘s high-density storage solutions for a managed storage service.

Avtex listed several reasons for choosing Nexsan’s backup hardware platform, the first of which is that it can support both cloud and virtual environments. Nexsan’s storage solutions are compatible with Hyper-V straight out of the box and are all certified by VMware and Citrix Systems. The company’s signature Flexible Storage Platform is comprised of  high-capacity, high-performance, enterprise-class RAID disk storage arrays that Nexsan says deliver tier-1 performance.

Avtex also noted Nexsan’s reputation of being “extremely reliable and significantly reducing drive and system maintenance.”
Avtex will use Nexsan’s backup and storage solutions to run its 24×7 backup services operation. And as Avtex’s business grows, the company says Nexsan’s Flexible Storage Platform is scalable enough to growth with it. That means no need for forklift upgrades. Translation? Even more cost savings for Avtex.

The news comes two months after Avtex named George Demou its new company president. Demou’s main goal? Achieve $100 million in Avtex sales by 2015, through its six locations in the U.S.
