Mailprotector Taps Luby to Head Channel Operations, Lead Global Expansion
Hosted application developer Virtual Connect Technologies has hired Amy Luby as the new global vice president of sales and marketing of Mailprotector, the company's brand of email security, management, and hosting tools.
Luby, a managed services provider (MSP) veteran, will take over day-to-day management of the company’s sales team, lead the company’s channel strategy, and help chart expansion into new markets, the company said.
"We currently serve our channels in 13 countries," she said. "One of my directives is to drive expansion into new regions globally and we are establishing a strong presence in Asia and South America right now as part of that expansion plan."
Luby has more than 17 years of experience in the channel. She most recently worked at the global IT security giant Trend Micro managing worldwide product and solution marketing. Prior to that, she held senior positions at Bradford Networks and Synnex Corp.
She founded her own MSP called Mobitech in 1995. She then parlayed that experience in 2007 by creating MSP Services Network (MSPSN), providing education, NOC, help desk and other hosted fulfillment services to emerging MSPs and value-added resellers (VARs) transitioning to managed services.
Luby said most of the Virtual Connect Technologies' business is through the reseller channel and they also work with hosting providers globally who bundle our services with their hosting solutions and sell to and through their resellers. Her expansion plans include increasing revenues quickly, she said.
"I inherited a small team when I started here almost 4 months ago, and I have been adding to the sales and marketing team here in the U.S. as well as developing country partners in strategic regions globally," Loby said.
