LogMeIn Central Alternatives: Low-cost Options for Remote Control
LogMeIn (LOGM) recently changed the pricing structure of its LogMeIn Central and LogMeIn Pro products, leaving many managed service providers looking for alternative remote control software options.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of remote control alternatives to LogMeIn Central. We focused on low-cost options. Did we miss any? Please add them in the comments below.

DameWare Remote Control
Full Disclosure: my name is Brandon Shopp and I am the Product Manager At SolarWinds responsible for our DameWare product.
DameWare is an excellent option to consider as an alternative to LogMeIn as well. You can find more details here (http://www.dameware.com/products/remote-support/product-overview.aspx) on the product and also download a fully featured trial. DameWare allows you to remote control machines both within your firewall and outside over the internet as well. You can remote control Windows, Mac or Linux machines and perform tasks besides remote control, such as chatting with end users, taking screen shots, transferring files and much more.
DameWare also tightly integrates with our Help Desk product Web Help Desk, which MSPMentor covered recently here (http://mspmentor.net/remote-monitoring-management-software/121014/solarwinds-integrates-web-help-desk-dameware-remote-support). From within a ticket you can launch a remote control session and once complete, automatically upload any screenshots, chat logs and audit data directly into the ticket notes for tracking.
If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to contact me at Brandon.shopp@solarwinds.com.

Remote software
Splashtop has been the best option to replace LMI for me. They have really stepped up lately and filled in a lot of the missing pieces in their software (file transfer, dual screens, sub-accounts, etc.) in a bid to be a business quality replacement. I have trialed the software and fully plan on using it once my LMI Central subscription runs out.
Splashtop Special for LogMeIn users
Many thousands of Logmein users have moved to Splashtop started over a year ago when LogMeIn abruptly cancelled freemium. In the past year, we listen to MSP customers closely and added grouping, MSI agent deployment, file transfer, and many other features tailored for MSPs. Splashtop is always known for its high performance, and simple pricing — $60 per year per IT for managing unlimited computers. And we listen and support our customers.
As LogMeIn has abruptly changed its Central pricing, yet again turning its back on customers, we are now offering free months to any LogMeIn customer who want to switch to Splashtop earlier before expiration. Free Splashtop Business trial is available at http://www.splashtop.com/business.
Dan, please check out Splashtop, and thanks for the great article. — SplashtopChief.
Dan, you have here a great
Dan, you have here a great review from Eli the computer guy that will explain you the main differences between the other softwares. Hope this helps.

Sick of the alternatives
Remote To PC http://remotetopc.com is currently in BETA, offers a lot of the features that Logmein pro used to for a fraction of the price. If you sign up for the beta team, it’s totally free.
Windows Remote Desktop Connection
Panorama9 is a robust IT management tool for overseeing your entire network of hardware/software, and it includes remote monitoring at a fraction of the cost of LogMeIn (full disclosure: I’m a founder). Our Panorama9 Connect features gives you full control over remote servers and computers, and allows you to connect immediately to any device monitored by our dashboard. It’s one-click away, secure, and easy to use. You can sign up for a 30-day free trial on our website: http://www.panorama9.com. Happy to answer any questions!

OptiTune
I would recommend OptiTune, http://www.bravurasoftware.com/optitune/
They have a great remote assistance feature, and the whole suite is free for the first year
Deskroll (deskroll.com) is
Deskroll (deskroll.com) is quite a neat tool.
Should be handy for pretty much any small and midsize companies. We’ve been using it for half of a year and totally like it. The big advantage is that it has no limits for a how many connections or remote hosts you have (especially given its price). Also it works in-browser.
Splashtop
Why we too use SplashTop since joining the AEM community (Centrastage now AutoTask), we find that too often the computers are online but the agent has stopped. THEREFORE and as a best practice we need a 2nd way to get to someone’s desktop. We have opted for ScreenConnect as the backup or secondary method to connect.
We have also switched to
We have also switched to Splashtop Business… turn out it’s not only cheaper, but also much faster performance and better customer support…. we email them and got instant response.
LiteManager
I find LiteManager it is free up to 30PC and lifetime license cost $300. There are a lot of features reemote desktop, filetransfer, chat, screenrecord and etc.
