Cloud-based IT service management solutions provider LogicNow has launched a service that ensures managed service providers (MSPs) can offer malware protection as part of their managed security service portfolios.

LogicNow has unveiled the Managed Antivirus service as part of a new partnership with security vendor Bitdefender.

Managed Antivirus is included in LogicNow’s MAXfocus product suite, LogicNow said, and allows MSPs to deliver malware protection to their customers “with the lowest possible management effort,” according to the company.

“Antimalware protection is one of the foundational services that MSPs offer to their clients, and an effective tool to deliver that is essential,” LogicNow General Manager Alistair Forbes said in a prepared statement. “We want our MSP customers to be able to offer a managed antivirus solution that is superior to their competitors’ offerings. … This requires us to partner with the best available technology and with Bitdefender we are able to deliver this to MSPs.”

Managed Antivirus also is fully white-labeled and customizable, according to LogicNow, and gives MSPs full control over how the service is branded and which contact details are included.

Other Managed Antivirus features include:

  • Behavioral Scanning capabilities to maximize effectiveness against hard-to-detect threats such as Cryptolocker.

  • “Snooze” feature to disable antivirus for a short time to perform maintenance.

  • Site Concentrator, which centralizes virus definition updates to minimize bandwidth requirements.

The upgrade is available now globally to new customers and across MAXfocus’ existing Managed Antivirus customer base.

In addition, LogicNow customers, IT service providers and MSPs can now register for MAX 2015 U.S. user conference, which is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., next month.

Full event details are available here.
