Line-of-Business, Custom Apps Show Strong

How will managed services providers (MSPs) manage the issues raised by the bring your own device (BYOD) trend, which Gartner has called the most radical change in IT since the PC? Organizations are taking proactive and innovative approaches to their mobile strategies, according to a new survey conducted by Zenprise, Inc.

Zenprise, a provider of mobile device management (MDM) solutions, released the findings of a survey which reveals that organizations are investing in mobile business initiatives, developing mobile apps, and getting a return on their investment. Here's a look at the some of the trends revealed by the survey survey:

  • 74.7 percent of respondents said they have or will deploy mobile apps to support their line-of-business activities in the next 12 months
  • 23.4 percent of respondents reported generating a monetary return-on-investment (ROI) on their mobile initiatives
  • 81.0 percent of organizations will deploy custom apps in next 12 months
  • 79.8 percent cite data security and 79.1 percent cite secure access as the mobile capabilities that give respondents the most comfort in developing mobile apps
More than 500 IT professionals were polled for this survey.
